Things I wish I had said when I met @miloanthonyventimiglia this Saturday at Heroes&Villains.
Instead of being starstruck and tongue-tied, I wish I had told him properly what an amazing actor I think he is, and how every character he has played has been perfect. I wish I had told him, as I meant to, that one character in particular has had the greatest effect on me: the sweetest, kindest father & husband we all know as Jack, from This Is Us. You see, in everyday life we get irritated by silly little things and it often bothers me that my other half can be so calm in a situation when I am so stressed out. He is great at making a joke or fun out of a less-than-great situation, and making the kids (and me) laugh and forget that things didn't go as planned. He is safe & reliable at all times - and I'm a crazy nut who gets caught up in the little things and needs him to calm me down! He is an amazing Dad and the kindest man I have ever met. After a rough year (losing Mum to cancer last May) I found myself a little lost for a while so, when I watched 'This Is Us' and realised that these are all the qualities in Jack that I love, and I read people's thoughts on Twitter etc about Jack being 'father goals' & 'husband goals', I realised I already have my very own "Jack" at home (although he has a different name!) and I need to appreciate him way more 💕
So, I wish I'd told him that his character made a difference and that his show is wonderful. I was so nervous the times I met him that I could only manage short chats about things way less close to my heart! He will likely never read this and he won't remember me in the flurry of the many people he met this past weekend, but I will remember meeting him, someone I have admired for a very very long time.
And thank you @jamesafrazierjr and all at Fan Fest for another awesome convention 😀
