About yesterday cooking class at @poshpantrybby ...
Some wonderful ladies learn how to make Gnocchi from scratch!
One of them knew all the process but she didn't have a recipe to follow!
The only recipe that she had was from her Mother in Law that unfortunately past away!
The recipe from her MIl was "boil the potatoes, mash them, add egg, a little bit of flour and that is it!
This is actually the way you get any recipe from any Mother, Mother in Law, Nonna, aunt in Italy! " a little bit of this, a little bit of that and that is it". The only thing that my Nonna used to say differently was " put your heart too"! I lived in Italy with my mom for 30 years and I Never never cooked a full meal in her kitchen!
Never. She was in control in her kitchen, she was and she is the best.
I was her personal assistant but she never let me cook a full meal by myself!
Once or twice I cooked for my brothers and when she came home the opinion about my food was bad! Lol....she used to said "if you don't know how to cook nobody is going to merry you" ....
This wonderful quote is very popular in my family, it come from generation of Great grandmothers! Lol
You are probably asking your self If I do the same with my kids? Of course NO....never....I can't wait to see my daughter making us a full meal dinner!
I also like to encourage my kids and all the people that come to my classes!
Everyone is different, everyone has a story and situations, nobody is born chef! Im not a chef either, just a housewife with a passion.
Few weeks ago I got a message from a client that came to my class to learn how to make Gnocchi and meat sauce. She thank me for teaching her how to make good food for her family, and for the wonderful encouragement that I gave her in these few past months, Even the day that she had to trow away 1 kg of potatoes I told her that she was amazing because she tried and if course she could do it again! You just need to believe in yourself and #doit ... of course don't forget the sprinkle of love ❤️! Happy Sunday 🌞☀️🌟💖❤️ enjoy the day with your family!
